Objection of Miller House Planning Application
Our conservation areas are an important part of Worthing’s heritage.
Wherever possible the the Society aims to protect their character. We were
disappointed when, despite the Planning Case Officers recommendation to
refuse the application, the Planning Committee allowed a ‘backland’
development of 4 houses in the Farncombe Road conservation area. Whilst
we appreciate the need for housing in our view the plans are out of
character and represent over-development of the site. Unfortunately the
Committee missed an opportunity to defer for a more modest and suitable
design.
