The Blue Plaque Committee met in November 2022 to consider applications for 2023. Each Year we consider up to 2 new Blue Plaques for the town, 1 funded by Adur&Worthing Council and 1 funded by the Worthing Society.
We received a number of very good nominations which included:
Donald Scott (Actor/Singer)
Stanley Adshead (Architect)
W E Henley (Poet and Dramatist)
Emily Davison (Suffragette)
M E Clinton-James (Monty’s Double)
Peter Bonetti (England and Chelsea Goalkeeper)
John Henry Pull (Amateur Archaeologist)
We have shortlisted 3 and work has commenced to gain agreement from the relevant stakeholders including location, family and funding.
Final decisions will be made in the Spring.
