Plaque Unveiling
A Blue Plaque commemorating the visit of Jane Austen to Worthing during the late summer season of 1805 was unveiled at Stanford Cottage (now Pizza Express) in Stanford Square off Warwick Street by the Mayor of Worthing, Cllr. Ann Sayers  at 10.00 a.m on Thursday October 28th. Whilst staying at Stanford Cottage Jane Austen found inspiration for the many scenes, characters and themes found in her final novel "Sandition".
